National Nursing Home Week is rolling along with celebrations across the state.

In this article, we look at special events held at two south Alabama nursing homes.

City of Dothan Proclamation

Wesley Manor began the week with Mayor Mike Schmitz presenting a proclamation to recognize National Nursing Home Week in the City of Dothan. The Tuesday morning event marked the sixth year in a row Mayor Schmitz has honored Wesley Manor with a proclamation.

“National Nursing Home Week is a special time each year for Wesley Manor’s associates and residents to enjoy additional activities,” Wesley Manor Marketing Director Belinda Whatley said. “Quality of life is important to our residents, and we want every day to be a special day for them. This special time of year also recognizes our associates and the many ways they go above and beyond in their responsibilities.”

Other celebration activities at Wesley Manor included a costume contest, parade and game day.
