Sylvia Holland has kept a busy schedule during her time as Ms. Alabama Nursing Home. Last week, her travels took her to Monroeville to tour three health care businesses.
The day began at Gericare Medical Supply where Ms. Holland was given a behind the scenes tour. Warehouse staff members taught her how to read an order ticket, locate the product and scan it into the computer system. Ms. Holland was particularly interested in learning how products make it from the shelf to her nursing home, Woodhaven Manor in Demopolis. (Article continues below video.)
Next, Ms. Holland visited the corporate office of Crowne Health Care. After greeting the staff, she told President Billy Jones and CEO Bryan Jones about recent building renovations and improvements at Woodhaven Manor.
The last stop of the day was Englewood Health Care Center. Administrator Keith Baggett and Director of Nursing Shelia Dailey introduced Ms. Holland to the residents and many of the center’s 130 staff members. Ms. Holland toured the rehabilitation gym and adjoining suites, dietary department, long-term care units and resident recreation and activity areas.
