The Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to Care Act (H.R. 7513) passed out of the U.S. Ways and Means Committee yesterday morning. The most important development was that it passed out of committee on a bipartisan vote with the support of Vice Chairwoman Rep. Terri Sewell (D-AL).
The American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) is advocating for passage of this bill. According to AHCA/NCAL, this is an important first step of a very long process to the legislation ultimately becoming law. The next step will be a floor vote in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“I want to thank our Alabama members for explicitly sharing their concerns directly with Congresswoman Sewell, as well as Alabama Nursing Home Association President & CEO Brandon Farmer for providing meaningful data to inform her decision,” said Clif Porter, AHCA/NCAL SVP of Government Relations.
AHCA/NCAL will continue to provide important updates on H.R. 7513.
