A Mobile County nursing home recently received the highest level possible on its annual inspection by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
It’s the second time the facility earned this distinction in recent years.
Citronelle Convalescent Center was declared to be “deficiency free” after a team of state government health inspectors completed a rigorous, on-site review of the facility’s health care services and operations. Being declared “deficiency free” means the nursing home met the standard of care in over 140 areas outlined by the federal government.
“We are able to achieve this high level of quality because of our dedicated employees,” Citronelle Administrator Gregg Myers said. “Our highly skilled caregivers provide excellent health care while showing compassion to each person we serve.”
This is the second time in four years that Citronelle Convalescent Center has achieved this high ranking. The facility was declared “deficiency free” after its 2010 inspection.
Federal law requires an annual inspection of every nursing home. In Alabama, the federal government contracts with the Alabama Department of Public Health to send a team to each facility to conduct a multi-day review of every aspect of the nursing home’s operation.
