Englewood2v2After a rigorous annual inspection, a Monroe County nursing home has received the highest possible rating by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

A team of government inspectors from the Alabama Department of Public Health found that Englewood Health Care Center in Monroeville met all of the health care criteria set forth by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. That led the team to declare the facility to be “deficiency free.” “Deficiency free” is the term used to signify that a nursing home met all of the government’s expectations.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for our facility. It demonstrates the dedication and compassion our staff puts forth each day in caring for our residents,” Englewood Health Care Center Administrator Keith Baggett said. “Our staff strives each and every day to provide the excellent care that our residents need and deserve.”

According to the latest data available from the American Health Care Association, 7.5% of Alabama nursing homes have been declared deficiency free.

Englewood Health Care Center also offers a comprehensive rehabilitation program called The Cedars of Englewood. It consists of 10 new rehab suites that have over 530 square foot in each room. Each suite has luxury amenities that include: private bathroom with shower, high definition televisions, kitchenettes with a washer and dryer, dinning room table that seats four and a recliner. The sofa is designed to convert to a bed in the event a family member would like to stay overnight with their loved one.
