Rehab Select at Talladega Health & Rehab Wins National Quality Award

Rehab Select at Talladega Health & Rehab is being nationally recognized its achievement in quality health care.

The Alabama Nursing Home Association member is part of 139 long-term and post-acute care centers across the country receiving the 2024 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award from American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

The award is the second of three distinctions – Bronze, Silver and Gold – of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The program spotlights centers that have demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of residents through quality care. Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program which helps organizations achieve superior performance over time to improve the quality of life and care of long-term care residents.

“This recognition highlights the extraordinary innovation and drive of our members,” said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “Their relentless pursuit of excellence supports resident care and fosters a nurturing work culture for staff. We are proud to recognize their success and their significant contributions to quality care.”

At the Silver level, centers develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve organizational performance and health care outcomes. Trained examiners review each Silver application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.

“These providers have shown extraordinary resilience and dedication by earning this award,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “Their success is a testament to their commitment to quality and excellence. I applaud their hard work and celebrate their outstanding contributions to long term and post-acute care.”

Recipients of the Silver award may now apply for the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award by further developing comprehensive strategies that meet the demands of the full Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence.

The National Quality Awards will be presented during Delivering Solutions 24, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 6-9, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
