Many of us have fond memories of playing in the snow. Nursing home residents are no different.

However, some have physical limitations that don’t allow them to venture outdoors during frigid, snowy weather.

One nursing home came up with a creative way to bring snow to the residents.

The staff of Oak Trace Care and Rehab Center took time to build an individual snowman for each resident that could not go outside and enjoy the snow.

The personalized snowmen were delivered to the happy residents on February 12, 2014, just as snow was starting to cover the city of Bessemer.

“We’re glad this activity helped every resident enjoy the snow,” Oak Trace Administrator Trina Vines said. “I hope it brought back happy childhood memories for them. I’m very proud of our staff for being so thoughtful of the residents who could not go outside.”
