Dressed in a ball gown and festive mask, Ms. Alabama Nursing Home 2013 Verdell Goodson was a special guest at a south Alabama Mardi Gras celebration.

Mrs. Goodson joined the Apollo Mystic Ladies of Daphne for the krewe’s Mardi Gras parade and ball on February 21.

Mrs. Goodson rode in a convertible during the evening parade and tossed moon pies, beads and cups into the crowd. She handed out roses to some of the children and elderly watching the parade. The parade featured over 200 participants and was viewed by thousands of people as it made its way down Main Street in Daphne. Mrs. Goodson was chauffeured by Nick Lees.

After the parade, Mrs. Goodson attended the Apollo Mystic Ladies’ ball at the Daphne Civic Center. The theme for the ball was “Knight of Queens.”
