Magnolia Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center in Tuskegee has broken ground on a major expansion that will increase the services it offers in Macon County.
The project will add 24 beds to the existing skilled nursing facility for a total capacity of 111 beds. The construction is expected to cost $3 million, and will provide an additional 25-30 jobs once the expansion is operational. Magnolia Haven Administrator Travis Harper expects construction to be complete by the late spring or early summer of 2016.
Currently, Magnolia Haven is the only long-term health care facility located in Macon County. It offers skilled nursing care; in-patient, short term rehabilitation services and outpatient therapy.
Magnolia Haven is one of 10 Alabama nursing homes operated by Ball HealthCare Services, Inc.
