The Alabama Nursing Home Association (ANHA) is proud to announce that five Alabama long term care providers have earned the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) 2026 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award.
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program recognizes long term care providers that demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and excellence in resident care. The program consists of three progressive award levels—Bronze, Silver, and Gold—with providers advancing through increasingly rigorous standards of performance excellence.
Organizations begin the quality improvement journey by earning the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award, where they establish a strong foundation for organizational excellence by evaluating their mission, vision, and key operational practices. At the Silver – Achievement in Quality Award level, providers demonstrate how they systematically improve performance and achieve positive outcomes through effective processes and measurable results. Applications are reviewed by a highly trained team of examiners using the nationally recognized Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework. After achieving the Silver Award, recipients are eligible to pursue the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award, the program’s highest distinction.
The following Alabama providers earned the 2026 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award:
- Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Aliceville
- Cherokee County Nursing Home, Centre
- Keller Landing Care and Rehabilitation, Tuscumbia
- Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Florence
- South Hampton Nursing, Owens Cross Roads
Alabama’s recipients are among a record 255 long term care providers nationwide recognized with the 2026 Silver Award.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. Since its inception in 1996, more than 8,000 providers nationwide have participated in the rigorous program to strengthen operations, improve outcomes, and enhance the lives of residents and staff.
The 2026 National Quality Award recipients will be recognized during Delivering Solutions 26, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, October 11–14 in Boston, Massachusetts.
