The Alabama Nursing Home Association (ANHA) has officially launched two new recognition programs aimed at honoring the individuals who are shaping — and have shaped — long term care across Alabama.
Announced on March 18, the Leaders in Long Term Care Awards and the Legends of Long Term Care Hall of Fame celebrate excellence, dedication, and lasting impact within the profession.
The Leaders in Long Term Care Awards recognize current professionals who are making a difference through innovation, leadership, and a strong commitment to residents and staff. Award categories include:
- Skilled Nursing Facility Leader of the Year
- Assisted Living Leader of the Year
- Nurse Leader of the Year
- Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year
- Noble Caregiver Award
The Legends of Long Term Care Hall of Fame honors individuals whose careers have left a lasting legacy in Alabama’s long term care communities. Inductees must have demonstrated at least 20 years of service and a significant commitment to improving the lives of residents in nursing homes and assisted living communities.
Both programs are designed to recognize individuals who have made a meaningful impact on residents, families, and the profession as a whole.
ANHA is currently accepting nominations for both programs, with a deadline of July 20, 2026. Winners and Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized during the ANHA Annual Convention on September 24.
Members are encouraged to submit nominations and help recognize the individuals whose leadership, service, and dedication continue to strengthen long-term care across Alabama.
