Alabama Nursing Home Association members elected officers for 2016 at the association’s annual meeting in Birmingham on Monday.
The incoming officers are:
- Chairman Frank Brown, USA Healthcare, Cullman
- Vice-Chairman Mark Traylor, Traylor Porter Healthcare Management, Opelika
- Treasurer Jim Walker, Preston Health Services, Centre
- Secretary Bryan Jones, Crowne Management, Monroeville
Each officer is elected to a one-year term on the Alabama Nursing Home Association (ANHA) Board of Directors, and serves on the Executive Committee. In April, ANHA members voted to revise the association’s bylaws changing the titles of President and Vice-President to Chair and Vice-Chair. Under the new bylaws, the officer positions are elected each year. Therefore, the Vice-Chair does not automatically assume the title of Chair. Under the old bylaws, the Vice-President automatically served as President the following year. Also, the association’s top staff member will now carry the title of President & CEO instead of Executive Director.
Regional Directors Elected
Earlier this year, the following individuals were elected to serve as Regional Directors on the ANHA Board of Directors:
- Region 1: Brian Scheri, Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing & Rehab Center, Florence;
- Region 3: Kevin Ball, Arlington Rehab & HealthCare Center, Birmingham;
- Region 5: Eldridge Stewart, Camden Nursing Facility, Camden;
- Region 7: Gail McInnish, Oakwood-North Baldwin’s Center for Living, Bay Minette;
- Region 9: John Burchfield, NHS Management, Tuscaloosa.
Regional Directors are elected by ANHA member nursing homes in nine geographic regions to represent the area. Each Regional Director serves a two-year term. Odd numbered regions hold elections in odd numbered years, and even numbered regions hold elections in even numbered years.
