The family member of an Alabama nursing home resident sent a heartfelt letter to ANHA President and CEO Bill O’Connor on December 31, 2015. Richard Foster wants Mr. O’Connor and others to know about the skilled and compassionate medical care his sister receives at a nursing home in Greenville. Read Mr. Foster’s letter to learn how the staff at this nursing home are making a difference in the life of his sister, Martha Foster.
Dear Mr. O’Connor
Human nature is to quickly respond to negative conditions or situations and not make the effort required to acknowledge the positive. Please allow me this opportunity to commend you and the Alabama Nursing Home Association for your oversight and assistance to what I feel has to be one of, if not the, best nursing home facilities in the state of Alabama.

I am sure you would agree that nursing home care is not a topic most people consider prior to needing that service. During the previous year it became necessary for one of my immediate family members to require the services of a full-time nursing home and rehabilitation facility. Due to a previous positive experience with an elderly aunt that became a resident of this facility, it was my first choice for my immediate family member. Unique daily care is required for my sister (Martha Foster) due to her overall physical, mental and medical needs and her lack of normal communication skills. I want you to know the administration and staff at Crowne Health Care of Greenville continues to excel in all areas of her daily living needs since she became a resident in the facility. The majority of the employees in this facility including the administrator, business office staff, doctors, on-site nurse practitioner, nurses, nursing aids, activities employees, food preparation staff, therapy, laundry, house keeping and maintenance personnel are a very compassionate and professional group that truly care about the well being of my sister as well as the other residents and visitors. When problems or concerns do arise the personnel mentioned above are quick to respond in a professional manner to address those situations prior to them becoming major.
Caring for individuals in a facility of this nature is a huge responsibility and I am truly grateful for Crowne Health Care of Greenville and their personnel. Best wishes to you and your organization in 2016.
Sincerely,
Richard Foster
Editor’s Note: The Alabama Nursing Home Association thanks Mr. Foster for sharing his experience, and for his active involvement in his sister’s care.
