Every fundraising team needs passion and drive to be successful.
Employees of one nursing home have those ingredients plus the inspiration needed to make a difference in the lives of others.
On March 15, 2014, a group of Cullman Health & Rehab Center employees and their family members took part in the area’s Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Walk at Cullman’s Heritage Park. Each year, a team from the nursing home walks in honor of current and former residents and employees of Cullman Health & Rehab Center that battled MS.
In the months leading up to the MS Walk, the team of about 25 employees raised funds with bake sales in the nursing home, soup drives and t-shirt sales.
“Cullman is a great place for us to work and for our nursing home residents to call home,” Cullman Health & Rehab Center Social Services Director Susan Akers said. “Events like this let us help others and do our part to make Cullman a great place to live. We’re already planning our team for the Relay for Life event in May.”
The funds raised at the MS Walks support life-changing program and cutting-edge MS research. They also give hope to the 6,300 people in Alabama and Mississippi living with MS.
