Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center shared the following story as part of ANHA’s 75 Stories of Care initiative.

Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center recently brought residents, families, staff, vendors and community members together for a special Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, demonstrating the power of unity, compassion and community involvement.

The event provided an opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer, honor those affected by the disease and show support for individuals and families whose lives have been touched by it.

With residents at the heart of the celebration, participants joined together in a spirit of hope, encouragement and solidarity. The walk served as a meaningful reminder that even small acts of support can make a difference in the lives of others.

The involvement of families, vendors and community members made the occasion especially memorable. Their participation strengthened connections beyond the facility’s walls and highlighted the importance of community partnerships in enriching residents’ lives.

For Arlington, the event was about more than raising awareness. It was an opportunity to bring people together around a shared cause while encouraging residents to remain engaged, connected and involved in their community.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Walk also reflected the compassion and sense of purpose that define long term care, where meaningful experiences and relationships are an important part of residents’ overall well-being.

Arlington extends heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated and helped make the event a success. Together, they shared a powerful message of hope, support and encouragement for those affected by breast cancer.

We’re grateful to the facilities who have already shared their stories — keep them coming!
