At Piedmont Health Care Center, those words come to life through a special partnership with Lookout Mountain Cowboy Church.
For nearly two years, members of the church have visited the center with their horses, creating an experience residents eagerly anticipate. The partnership began through connections made by Piedmont’s Activities Director and was strengthened by the church’s longstanding relationship with the organization’s sister facility in Centre.
While the visits may only last a short time, the impact is lasting.
Residents have the opportunity to pet the horses, spend time up close with these gentle animals, and enjoy moments that spark cherished memories and genuine joy.
“The residents love to be able to touch and feel the horses and get up close to them,” the facility shared. “You can see the sweet, loving connection between them and the horses. It’s almost like childhood giddiness over a new pet.”
