For two decades, Linda Neal has been a familiar and trusted presence at Glenwood Center, where she has served as a Housekeeping Aide since 2006.

While Linda takes pride in helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment, she believes her role is about much more than housekeeping. For her, the most rewarding part of each day is the opportunity to connect with residents and brighten their lives through simple acts of kindness.

“All focus has to be on the patient and their needs,” Linda said.

Over the years, she has built meaningful relationships throughout the center, often taking time to stop and talk with residents, share a smile, or simply ask how they are doing. These everyday interactions help create a sense of comfort, belonging, and home for those she serves.

One relationship, in particular, has remained especially meaningful. Each morning, a resident makes it a point to greet Linda, a simple tradition that has become a highlight of her day and a reminder of the connections that make long term care so special.

Linda describes Glenwood Center as her “second home,” a reflection of the dedication and commitment she has shown to residents and coworkers alike. For her, success is not measured by tasks completed, but by knowing residents feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Through her positive attitude, compassionate spirit, and genuine concern for others, Linda demonstrates that every role in long term care contributes to resident well-being. Her daily interactions serve as a reminder that sometimes the smallest gestures—a smile, a conversation, or a kind word—can have the greatest impact.
