One of Alabama’s most prominent long-term care leaders is now leading one of the state’s top public universities.
Kevin Ball with Ball HealthCare Services has served on the Alabama Nursing Home Association’s Board of Directors since 2007. He was elected Secretary of the board in 2023 and continues to serve in that role.
On February 21, 2025, Ball was elected to serve as president pro tempore of the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU) Board of Trustees. He will serve a one-year term as president pro tempore. He joined the AAMU board of trustees in 2016.
“To be chosen to lead your alma mater is an honor and very humbling,” Ball said. “My top priority is to assist with our signature capital campaign which celebrates our 150th anniversary. I also want to support campus operations and student services are we continue our growth. We have a lot of ongoing and upcoming construction projects to expand our campus, and I want to support that process. I’m proud to be a part of Alabama’s largest HBCU that has recently experienced record enrollment and will encourage the continued growth of our campus, faculty and students.”
Ball earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from AAMU in 1997. He also holds a Master of Science in Long-Term Care Administration from the University of North Texas.
Founded in 1875, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University is the largest historically black college and university in Alabama with an enrollment of approximately 7,300 students. It provides more than 60 undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs and concentrations. Alabama A&M’s Board of Trustees is a group of distinguished persons selected to oversee the University.
