Students at a dozen community colleges across Alabama will be able to pursue a nursing career thanks to scholarships from the Alabama Nursing Home Association (ANHA) Education Foundation.

The Alabama Nursing Home Association today announced that 23 Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students at 19 Alabama community colleges will receive scholarships for the 2014 fall semester.

The scholarships are $500.00 per student per semester and are offered for the spring, summer and fall semesters at community colleges that are part of the Alabama Community College System. Each college may select two students to receive the scholarship each semester.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have complete the first semester of the LPN program, maintain a 2.5 GPA, be a resident of Alabama and take part in clinical training in a nursing home.
