Cottage of the Shoals shared the following story as part of ANHA’s 75 Stories of Care initiative.
Sometimes the simplest moments create the biggest smiles.
During National Skilled Nursing Facility Week in May, residents at Cottage enjoyed one of their favorite activities—a lively game of Bingo. The fun was made even more special when the facility’s administrator took the lead, calling the numbers and spending the afternoon with residents.
As each game unfolded, laughter and friendly competition filled the room. Winners were rewarded with prizes of their choosing, adding to the excitement and celebration.
For Cottage residents, Bingo is more than just a game. It’s an opportunity to connect with friends, stay engaged, and enjoy meaningful time together. Having the administrator join in made the experience an unexpected surprise that residents truly appreciated.
