For six decades, the Burns and DeArman families have dedicated themselves to serving others, creating a tradition of care that continues to impact lives throughout their community.
Founded in April 1966 by Dr. John D. Burns and his wife, Ethel Burns, Burns Nursing & Rehab was built on a simple but powerful belief: caring for others is a calling. Sixty years later, that commitment continues through multiple generations of the Burns and DeArman families.
What began as a family mission has grown into a lasting legacy of service to the Russellville community. Martha DeArman (pictured second from left in the middle photo above), daughter of the founders, took ownership of the facility in 1969 and spent decades helping shape its resident-centered culture. Her son, Mark DeArman (pictured on the right in the middle photo above), later joined the family business and currently serves as Administrator, continuing the tradition of caring for friends, neighbors, and loved ones close to home.
Today, Burns Nursing & Rehab proudly serves its community while maintaining the same family-centered atmosphere that has defined the facility since its founding. Joining Mark in leadership is his wife, Lindley DeArman, who came aboard five years ago as Director of Nursing. Together, they remain deeply committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to residents while supporting the staff members who make that care possible.
Over the decades, Burns has cared not only for residents, but also for generations of local families. The facility’s philosophy has always extended beyond meeting clinical needs to creating a place where residents feel safe, valued, and at home.
