Because she is a native of Hartford in Alabama’s Wiregrass region, Ms. Holland was invited to participate in the 72nd Annual National Peanut Festival Parade in Dothan on November 14. She was a guest on Wesley Manor’s float and rode with staff and residents of the skilled nursing care center. The parade had more than 160 entries including marching bands, political leaders and community groups.

On December 5, Ms. Holland was featured in Demopolis’ Christmas on the River Day Parade. She lives at Woodhaven Manor which is located in Demopolis. Ms. Holland rode in a yellow convertible while Woodhaven staff and residents followed on a parade float. The parade is part of a week long festival leading up to the city’s famous Christmas on the River which is a nautical parade and fireworks event.

Ms. Holland made two stops in Tuscaloosa in late January. First, she and Woodhaven Manor Activity Assistant Ouida McCullough toured Senior Care Pharmacy. Senior Care’s team of pharmacists gave her a behind the scenes tour of the state of the art, 27,000 square foot long-term care pharmacy. Ms. Holland was familiar with the company’s work because Senior Care Pharmacy provides pharmacy services for Woodhaven Manor.

Ms. Holland told Senior Care Pharmacy staff members she worked in a locally owned drug store when she was in her 30s. She was impressed with Senior Care’s modern operation including a robotic machine which automatically fills prescriptions.

While in Tuscaloosa, Ms. Holland stopped by Glen Haven Health & Rehab. She toured the skilled nursing care center and met several of the residents and staff members.
