Staff at Thomasville Health Care & Rehab Center knew some of the resident rooms needed a makeover.

Instead of a normal renovation, Thomasville decided to have little fun with the project.

The called the completion “Flip This Room” and modeled it after the popular HGTV show “Flip This House.”

Teams consisting of employees, vendors and family members designed rooms. Rules were established to make sure the decorations met government regulations and the center’s policies. After the renovations were complete, a team of community leaders served as judges. In the end, the resident rooms were more homelike and inviting.

Thomasville Health Care & Rehab Center will share its “Flip This Room” program at Alabama’s Best Practices on August 28.
