Millie McDonald is making the most of her time as Ms. Alabama Nursing Home 2016. This is a photo gallery of her recent events and a brief summary of her travels.
Ms. McDonald’s nursing home, Crowne Health Care of Greenville, held a reception so the Camilla City could honor it’s new homegrown celebrity. Mayor Dexter McLendon presented Ms. McDonald with a certificate of recognition from the City of Greenville. Throughout the two-hour event a steady stream of friends and well wishers greeted Ms. McDonald.
In September, Ms. McDonald took part in two Alabama Nursing Home Association events. She was a guest of honor at the Trade Show and Chairman’s Reception at the ANHA Annual Convention in Birmingham. Ms. McDonald visited trade show booths, spoke to vendors and posed for pictures with attendees.
Ms. McDonald addressed nursing home administrators and nurses during a seminar at the ANHA Annual Convention. Escorted by seminar speaker Michael Arthur, Ms. McDonald told the audience how she was unable to walk or sit up and how the staff at Crowne Health Care of Greenville taught her how to walk again with only using assistance from a cane. She also encouraged each attendee to continue to do their very best of those living in their nursing homes and reminded them of the importance of their work.
