The Alabama Nursing Home Association is a finalist for the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Silver Anvil Award for its work on “Stand Tall Alabama.”
Awarded annually since 1944, the Silver Anvil Award is considered the public relations equivalent of an Oscar or Grammy. According to PRSA, the award recognizes programs that incorporate sound research, planning, execution and evaluation and meet the highest standards of public relations performance. Silver Anvils are awarded in 13 categories and various subcategories. “Stand Tall Alabama” is a finalist in the Integrated Communications category.
The 125 finalists for 2016 include Fortune 500 companies, federal government agencies and international public relations firms.
“Our public relations success depends on our members faithfully executing the strategies that support our goals – that was especially true with Stand Tall Alabama,” ANHA Chairman Frank Brown said. “This recognition reminds our members that their association provides the best representation possible for the skilled nursing care profession. On behalf of our members, I thank our association staff and Matrix for helping us earn this recognition.”
ANHA and Matrix, LLC created “Stand Tall Alabama” to help inform the Alabama Legislature about the importance of fully funding the Alabama Medicaid Agency during the Second Special Session of 2015. The integrated communications campaign incorporated social media, grass roots advocacy and advertising to successfully engage voters to contact lawmakers and encourage them to approve Medicaid funding proposals.
The Silver Anvil winners and Silver Anvil Award of Excellence winners will be announced on June 9, 2016, at a ceremony in New York City.
